Curfew was imposed Friday morning in Mannar following a shoot out.
Meera Ismail Saideen, 35, was fatally shot late Thursday in Pesalai, near Mannar town, a police official said.

Angry residents set fire to a LTTE office accusing the Tamil Tigers responsible for the shooting.

Authorities are discussing whether to continue with the curfew.

The Tamil National alliance has accused the police of acting in a partial manner in bringing the situation under control
