Tamilchelvan denied visa by the UK
July 08, Colombo: The United Kingdom (UK) has refused a visa for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Political Wing leader S.P. Tamilchelvan on the basis that the LTTE is a banned organization. The LTTE is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, and other countries have also not lifted their bans on the group even after the United National Front (UNF) government and the Tigers entered into a Memorandum of Understanding last February.
