<b>The paper claims British soldiers handed over the photos</b>
<b>Ever since the Mirror newspaper published photos of British soldiers allegedly torturing an Iraqi prisoner their authenticity has been questioned.
On Thursday Minister Adam Ingram said the photos "were categorically not taken in Iraq".
The special investigation branch had "independent corroboration" that this was the case, he said.</b>
