LTTE accuses Army of having direct or indirect links over the seven Tiger killings
Alladin Hussein in Colombo, April 28, 2004, 5.55 p.m.. The LTTE has accused the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) of having some links to the murder of the seven Tiger cadres in Batticaloa on Monday, which included four disabled cadres. LTEE Political Wing Leader S.P. Thamilselvam has in a letter to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) claimed that his organisation has credible evidence that the attackers came from the Vavuniya Sri Lanka Army Camp direction and had escaped after the attack in the same direction. The attackers could not have passed through the SLA point without being noticed, Thamilselvam pointed out in his letter.
Making use of the Karuna factor, any Para-military groups working alongside the SLA, whether with the blessing of the SLA or other wise, may continue to act in this manner and create havoc and confusion, the Political Leader said in his letter to the SLMM. He also requested the Monitoring Mission to immediately take up the matter for an in-depth discussion and ensure that no such violation takes place in the future.
