LTTE Admits, they Developed a Sophisticated Military During Truce
Bandula Jayasekara in Colombo, SLT 3.30 P.M Friday 16 April. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has admitted that the organization developed a sophisticated military machinery since they signed the ceasefire agreement with the government of Ranil Wickreamasinghe two years ago. A report says that Prabhakaran has unlimited supplies of ammunition and a sophisticated command and control system under them.
A report written by the editor of pro-LTTE website, Tamilnet, says "The manner in which Karuna was checkmated is a limited demonstration of the military prowess and sophistication that the LTTE has developed since it signed the ceasefire agreement with the Sri Lankan government two years ago. Even a seasoned senior LTTE Commander like Karuna was not aware of the real capacity of the Special Forces and psychological operation units that Prabhakaran raised during the last two years."
Last week LTTEs renegade eastern commander Karuna said that Prabhakaran had taken delivery of 11 arms shipments since the ceasefire came into being in 2002.
