LTTE (P) Getting Ready to Capture Areas in the East- Karuna Faction

Spokesman for LTTE's renegade eastern commander, Karuna Amman says that the Wanni administration is getting ready to capture some areas in the east, under their control. He said that they have received information that there would be infantry strikes today. The Spokesman, Varathan said that Karuna and his group were strong enough to defend themselves and they will only use defensive methods. He said, " We refuse to get provoked by their actions. We will avoid all internal killings. But, we are fully prepared to defend ourselves" However, military sources told The Academic that they have not received any information on any planned attacks by Prabhakarans LTTE. But, the official said that large-scale infiltrations have taken place and it would be difficult for Prabhakaran to carry out any infantry attacks on Karuna.
