Karuna asks Norway for protection
LTTE's rebel eastern leader Karuna has asked Norway for protection according to the Norwegian newspaper VG (Vaygay) The newspaper reports that the request came after Karuna came in to conflict with LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran and after defence authorities in Colombo rejected the proposal of having a new and separate ceasefire with Karuna's administration of Batticaloa and the East. However , the Norwegian Foreign Ministry press spokesman Karsten Klepsvik has refused to comment on Karuna's request for protection from Norway. The Norwegian newspaper also says that Karuna's request confirms the division among the Tamil Tigers, which otherwise boasts it constitutes an effective, disciplined organization.
