<b>Rift in LTTE? </b>

COLOMBO, March 3. A serious rift is reportedly brewing in the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) over the recent killing of non-LTTE political activists in the eastern Batticaloa district.
According to sources in eastern Sri Lanka, the difference of opinion erupted today between the LTTE's political wing leader, S. P. Tamilchelvan, and the rebels eastern special military commander, V. Muralitharan (a.k.a. `Col. Karuna) over the killings, in which the LTTE's hand is suspected.
