It is over 60 years ago that the German Nazis engaged in the execrable 'Final Solution' of what they termed the Jewish problem in their midst. It was no more and no less than the savage annihilation of the Jews who had been settled in Europe for over a thousand years. The gas chambers of Auschwitz and Buchenwald that are still standing are macabre testimonies to the evil of racist superiority propounded and practiced by the butchers of Nazi Germany.
In a similar manner, the fate of the Tamils too is unquestionably sealed if left any longer in their hands of the Sinhala government. The genocidal ethnic cleansing undertaken by successive Sinhala Sri Lankan governments resulted in the killing of nearly 100,000 Tamil civilians and has driven nearly two million Tamils into traumatic internal exile in the Vanni and family-rending exile in foreign lands. The Sinhala psyche is such that there can be no room in their minds for the continued existence of a Tamil nation within the present state of Sri Lanka. It is indeed a vain hope to expect the murderous and blood dripping Sinhala lion to forego its taste for Tamil flesh and blood. The international community (IC) remains indifferent to the indiscriminate mass murder of innocent Tamil civilians yet again as evidenced by the bombing of innocent Tamil civilians living in the villages of Trincomalee. The pious 'Do Gooding' NGOs and the ineffective foreign diplomatic legations based in Sri Lanka are practised exponents of the art of ' see no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil' so long as it concerns the torture and genocide carried out by the Sri Lankan government and its armed forces.
Reported below is a brief summary of a TRO press report describing the latest episodes of indiscriminate massacre visited upon the Tamil people by a hate-filled Sri Lankan government that is goaded and cheered into a frenzy by a southern Sinhala electorate, hell-bent on driving the Tamils into extinction. All Tamils, whether supporters of Tamil nationalism or tepid or even trenchant supporters of the Sinhala government who naively assume that the Sinhalese will play fair by the Tamil nation, should realise that the time is now ripe to open their hearts and minds to the clear and inevitable conclusion that the Sinhala government has neither the desire nor the mandate to settle the Tamil question apart from administering the 'Final Solution'.

The Sri Lankan Government onslaught on the Tamils and Muslims in the villages surrounding Trincomalee continues unabated. The International Community that hastened to condemn the bomb-blast involving the Army Commander inside the Army Headquarters in Colombo, has not said a word against Sri Lanka attack on Tamil civilians continuing for the second day in Trincomalee. Deaths of more than thirteen civilians, including a Muslim religious dignitary and a two-year old child, have been reported so far. Thousands of persons from Ralkuli, Kadakaraichchenai, Senaiyoor, Sampoor, Ilakkanthai, Sudaikuda, Paddalipuram and Upparu in the Trincomalee district have been displaced due to the ongoing air, sea, and ground attacks by the Security Forces of Government of Sri Lanka. The IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) affected by the previous week's communal violence are also streaming into LTTE controlled areas from the government controlled areas. The number of IDPs has passed the 30,000 mark and continues to rise.
Access to, and procurement of, these items is severally hampered as these items are not available in the LTTE controlled areas and transportation from government controlled areas is impossible. There are two co-op shops in these affected areas and neither have adequate stock to deal with the current and anticipated needs. Small shops that were previously open for business have all been closed due to the security situation. There are also no hospitals in the area and the two available medical centres and dispensaries are staffed by visiting doctors and nurses. Thus far these medical personnel have been unable to report for work due to the continuing shelling. So what are we waiting for? The Tamils of Tamil Eelam are being attacked by rampant Sinhala forces all around them and cannot wait until they are driven into the sea. Now is the time for our fight back and to support the LTTE as our proven leaders to defend the very existence and rights of the Tamil nation. We cannot be begging for the mercies of the international community which has shown itself partial to the Sinhala government nor can we keep the rampaging the Sinhala forces any longer at bay, without striking back with determination and courage to win at last the freedom that has been denied to the Tamil people for nearly 60 years since the granting of independence by the British.
