* LTTE used thermobaric weapons to kill sailors?

Dec 26, Colombo: Government security authorities have launched an inquiry into whether the LTTE used banned thermobaric weapons to kill 13 sailors on Friday at Mannar.
Quoting Mannar Police HQI Sudath Asmadala, a local newspaper reported today, "Rocket-propelled grenades cannot do such harm to the human body and we strongly believe that the attackers had used the world-banned thermoberic weapon.
"We have asked the Government Analyst to carry out a special investigation into the matter as this type of weapons is banned all over the world," he told the paper.
Thirteen sailors were killed and another two injured during a sudden attack on a Navy convoy at Pesalai in Mannar last Friday.
