COLOMBO (Reuters) - The bodies of 12 sailors have been recovered from a bus attacked by suspected Tamil Tiger rebels in northwestern Sri Lanka, the navy said on Friday, in the worst ever breach of a 2002 truce.
"The exact number of dead we do not know but we have recovered 12 bodies," navy spokesman Jayantha Perera said.
Earlier, an army spokesman said the rebels had detonated a claymore fragmentation mine and a landmine as a naval bus and truck passed down a road.
