Court’s Notice to Execute the Arrest Warrant against LTTE Leader

The Sri Lanka court of appeal issued notice (today), the 27th of October to the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to appear in courts on the 1st of December, over his failure to execute the arrest were not order against the Thamil Eelam National Leader Velupillai Prabaharan.
The courts made this order after considering two writ petitions, which seek a bid to execute the warrant on the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabaharan over his involvement on the 1996 Central bank Bombing.
One petition is filed by Sinhala Urmaya vice president H.N.B.Kottahadeniya (Former Deputy Inspector General of the Police).
In the Petition the CID Director, Inspector general of Police and the Attorney General are cited as respondents.
In October last year the High Court, Colombo, convicted the LTTE leader on 52 charges from total of 712 on his involvement on the Central Bank bombing.
The petitions are seeking for an order calling on the respondent to execute the court warrant against the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabaharan.
