ரனிலுடன் ஒத்துப்போயிருக்கலாமே இலங்கை இடைத்தேர்தல் வரகாரணமாகி விட்டேனே சந்திரிகா
கொழும்பு, மார்ச் 15- இலங்கை பாராளுமன்றத்;துக்கு இன்னும் 4 ஆண்டு கழித்து வர வேண்டிய தேர்தல் அதிபர் சந்திhpகாவின் பிடிவாதம் காரணமாக இப்போதே வந் துள்ளது. இந்தநிலையில் அதிபர் சந்திhpகா அரசு தொலைக்காட்சியில் நேற்று நாட்டு மக்களுக்காக சிங்கள மொழியில் உரையாற்றினார். அவர் கூறியதாவது
4 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகு வர வேண்டிய பாராளுமன்ற தேர்தல் இப்போது இடைத்தேர்தலாக வந்திருப்பதால் மிகவும் வருத்தமடைகிறேன். 4 ஆண்டு காலத்தில் 3-வது முறை தேர்தல் வருவது வருத்தமான விஷயம்தான்.
பிரதமர் ரனிலுடன் நான் கொஞ்சம் ஒத்துப்போயிருந்தால் தற்போது தேர்தல் நடத்த வேண்டிய அவசியம் வந்திருக்காது. அப்படி ஒத்துப்போகா மல் தேர்தல் வர நானும் ஒரு காரணமாகி விட்டேனே என்று வருந்துகிறேன்.
ரனில் ஒரு செயல்படாத ஊழல் அரசை நடத்தினார். அதனால்தான் அவருடன் ஒத்துப்போக முடியாமல் நான் இடைத்தேர்தல் நடத்துகிறேன். புலிகளுடன் நடந்த சமரசப்பேச்சில் இருந்து ரனில் கைகழு விக்கொண்டார். நான் மீண்டும் அதிபரானால் புலிகளுடன் அமைதிப்பேச்சு நடத்துவேன். ஊழலை ஒழிப்பேன். அதிபாpடம் குவிந்திருக்கும் அதிக அளவு அதிகாரத்தை குறைப்பேன். நான் எனது பணியை தொடரவேண்டும் என்றhல் எனது சுதந்திர கட்சி கூட்டணிக்கு வாக்களியுங்கள்.
இவ்வாறு சந்திhpகா பேசி னார்.
225 உறுப்பினர் கொண்ட இலங்கை பாராளுமன்றத்தில் பிரதமர் ரனிலின் ஐக்கிய தேசிய கட்சிக்கு போதுமான பலம் இருந்தது. இருந்தும் அதிபர் சந்திhpகா அவரது அதிகாரத்தை பயன்படுத்தி பாராளுமன்றத்தை கலைத்து தேர்தலுக்கு உத்தரவிட்டிருக்கிறhர். முன்னாள் தீவிரவாத அமைப்பான ஜனதா விமுக்தி பெரமுனா கட்சியுடன் சந்திhpகா தனது இலங்கை சுதந்திர கட்சியை சேர்த்து கூட்டணி அமைத்துள்ளார். இந்த புதிய கூட்டணிக்கு சுதந்திர கூட்டணி என்று அவர் பெயர் சூட்டியிருக்கிறhர். இலங்கை இடைத்தேர்தல் குறித்து சந்திhpகா வருத்தம் தொpவித்திருப்பது இதுவே முதன்முறை ஆகும்.

A major force within the LTTE
BANDULA JAYASEKARA
[size=17]HE sat, laughing, next to his leader Velupillai Prabakaran when the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) leader met mediapersons on April 10 in Killinochchi. It was the first time that many people saw the boyish looking but hawkish leader from Batticaloa, referred to as Colonel Karuna by Anton Balasingham. It is not clear how old he is, but it is accepted even by the Sri Lankan military that Karuna leads from the front and that he does not believe in withdrawing even if he is in danger. Karuna is credited with leading several battles to victory. He took part in all phases of Operation 'Unceasing Waves'. He was responsible for the capture of Aiyakachchi. It was, in a way, the beginning of the capture of Elephant Pass. Karuna is also well-guarded like his leader and, moreover, Prabakaran recognises Karuna as a real fighter. One of Sri Lanka's most successful Generals and currently the country's High Commissioner to Australia, Janaka Perera, once described Karuna as one of the LTTE's most successful commanders.
It is believed that Karuna would play an important role in the future struggle of the LTTE. Karuna is developing Batticaloa militarily, even while securing his place and strengthening his forces in the area. Decoded radio intercepts from Karuna made since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) refer ominously to "when hostilities recommence". More cadres have been recruited in the East. The military strength of the LTTE around its headquarters stands at an all-time high of around 7,000. LTTE cadres who fought in the battles in the North and in the Vanni have moved back to Batticaloa. It was Karuna who took them to fight the battles in the North and proved to Prabakaran how effective his forces were.
Most of the cadres in Batticaloa are returning to the East on the pretext of going on leave. [b]One can question the real motive of Karuna at this juncture. What is he doing at a time when he is expected to lay down his arms, building a separate and dreadful force in Batticaloa? Karuna is getting ready to take over the East. He knows that Prabakaran trusts him though there is a difference between the Tamils in Batticaloa and Jaffna. No one knows if Karuna has an ulterior motive, or if he is following the orders of his leader. Karuna, like Prabakaran, is not very comfortable at times of peace. He is a real warlord of the LTTE.
At one time Karuna had no control over the political leader of the LTTE in Batticaloa, Karikalan. Karikalan went on a rampage in the East harassing Muslims and making his own decisions. He also upset S.P. Thamilchelvan, the leader of LTTE's political wing, by taking charge of Batticaloa's political operations and doing things his way. Observers say that his action made Thamilchelvan very insecure at the time. However, the shelling Karikalan got from Prabakaran settled matters for everyone. Karuna, the military man in Batticaloa, has a better control of the situation now. Karuna also has a great understanding with Paduman, a leader in Trincomalee described by Balasingham as Colonel Paduman. Paduman too is a strong military leader of the LTTE and was seated next to Karuna at Prabakaran's press conference.
Although Karuna is not seen in the picture, it is well-known that he has gained total control of Batticaloa and is strengthening Batticaloa and the East through mass mobilisation and collection of arms and ammunition. He has reorganised LTTE cadres into regiments. The "Pongu Tamil" and the anti-Indian "Annai Bupathi" celebrations held in Batticaloa helped Karuna in his mass mobilisation. The Tigers tried through these two events to project the image of the LTTE as the only saviours of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
Four LTTE boats intercepted by the Sri Lanka Navy recently carried a large stock of arms and ammunition. The boats also carried hardcore Batticaloa cadres returning from the North. These boats were released without taking any count of arms or other items lying with the LTTE. Karuna and Paduman were also in those boats. There were reports about the presence of LTTE intelligence chief Pottu Amman. However, informed sources confirm that Pottu Amman was not in any of the boats. He had taken the sea route and landed before the Sri Lankan Navy intercepted the boats. Pottu Amman, along with his leader Velupillai Prabakaran, is wanted in India for the assassination of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Prabakaran has also started to recruit more cadres from Jaffna and the opening of the A-9 highway helped him to reach out to more people than ever before. It was never in doubt that Prabakaran has most faith in his people from Jaffna even though it was Karuna's people from the East who fought hard for the LTTE in recent times. Unconfirmed reports say that Balasingham had warned Prabakaran to keep Karuna under control. Some months ago, the pressure brought by the Army's deep penetration team on Karuna and Karikalan was so severe that they could not even attend Prabakaran's Heroes' Day celebrations. Karikalan narrowly escaped death because he was not in his vehicle when the deep penetration team struck. Military analysts believe that the deep penetration team could have neutralised the LTTE leadership in Batticaloa at the time. Karuna is now aware that he has freedom of action since the operations of the deep penetration teams came to a halt with the signing of the MoU.
Batticaloa comes under the charge of Major-General Sunil Tennekoon who has a clear understanding of the situation there. He has sent a report to the higher authorities about the LTTE's enhanced military capabilities and stockpiling of arms, the creation of a fear psychosis among the people living in Batticaloa, the LTTE's intervention in the civil administration, and more. Government Agents in Batticaloa already work under the instructions of the LTTE. It also summoned a meeting of government servants in Kokkadichilai and Karadiyanaru and blamed the Tamils for their inadequate support to propagate the activities of the LTTE. It is well-known that the LTTE is sending cadres to cleared areas disregarding the MoU, and the contractors for international non-governmental organisations operating in Batticaloa, such as the Norwegian Save the Children, and government projects are nominated by the LTTE.
It is reported that the Sri Lankan Army is undergoing combat training and is in readiness, though it is not evident. Most of the checkpoints in the East are neglected and a number of them have been removed. Soldiers are in a relaxed mood. [b]But no one knows what Karuna is up to.

அதிபர் சந்திரிகா-கருணா தொடர்பு அம்பலம்!
தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கத்தில் இருந்து விலக்கப்பட்ட அதன் கிழக்குப் பகுதி தளபதி கருணா, இலங்கை அதிபர் சந்திரிகா குமார துங்காவுடன் தொடர்பு கொண்டிருந்ததாகவும், அதன் அடிப்படையிலேயே இயக்கத்தைவிட்டு பிரிந்து தனித்துச் செயல்பட கருணா முடிவெடுத்ததாகவும் இலங்கைச் செய்திகள் கூறுகின்றன!
இலங்கைத் தலைநகர் கொழும்புவில் இருந்து வெளிவரும் சண்டே லீடர் எனும் ஆங்கில நாளிதழ், பிப்ரவரி 19-ந் தேதியில் இருந்தே அதிபர் சந்திரிகாவிற்கும், தளபதி கருணாவிற்கும் இடையே கருத்து பரிமாற்றம் நடந்து வந்தது எனவும், சந்திரிகாவின் தூதராக அவருடைய கூட்டணியின் கொழும்பு மாவட்ட வேட்பாளரான ரத்ன காமகே, கருணாவை அடிக்கடி சந்தித்து பேசி வந்ததாகவும் கூறியுள்ளது.

தமிழீழ கனவோடு கல்லறைகளில் உறங்குகின்ற எம்முடன்பிறப்புக்களை மனதில் நிறுத்தி கடந்த சில நாட்களில் இந்தப்பாடுமீன் பக்கங்கள் தாங்கிவந்த எமது தேசியத்தலைவர் மேதகு வே.பிரபாகரன் அவர்களுக்கும் தமிழீழ விடுதலைப்புலிகளின் தலைமைக்கெதிராகவும் வெளிவந்த செய்திகளிற்காக பாடுமீன் வாசகர்களிடம் பல்லாயிரம் தடவைகள் மன்னிப்புக் கேட்கின்றேன்.
தமிழ்த்தாயின் கழுத்தில் சுருக்கிட்டு தேசியத்தின் குரல்வளையை எப்படி இந்தக் கருணா என்ற துரோகி நெரிக்க முற்படுகிறானோ அதைவிடக் கொடுமையின்; நரகத்திற்குள் இருந்து இந்தப்பாடுமீன் எழுத்தாளர் எழுதவேண்;டிய துர்ப்பாக்கிய நிலைக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டான் என்பதை இருகண்ணிலும் இருந்து வருகின்ற கண்ணீர்த்துளிகள் எனது விசைப்பலகையைத் துளைத்துவிடக்கூடாது. இந்த விடயத்தை இந்தப்பாடுமீன் வாசிகளுக்கு அனுப்பும் வரைக்கும் என்னுயிர் பிரிந்துவிடக்கூடாது என்ற அச்சத்துடன் இருந்து என்கைவிரல்கள் அசைகின்றன.
என் அன்பான வாசகர்களே இப்பொழுது கருணா என்கின்ற அந்த அரக்கன் எமது தேசியத்தலைவரின் மூச்சுக்குப் பயந்து என்னருகில் இல்லாமல் வனாந்தரத்திற்குள் பதுங்கி இருக்கச்சென்றுவிட்டான். அதனால்த்தான் இக்கருத்தை உங்கள் கண்ணில் பார்க்கக்கூடிய அளவுக்கு என்னால் அனுப்ப முடிந்தது.
தற்போது தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படையாகத் தெரிந்திருப்பது பூதாகரமான “பிரதேசவாதக் கொள்கை” மட்டுமே. இதனுள் பொதிந்திருக்கும் உண்மைத் தன்மையோ வேறு. இது தனிப்பட்ட மனிதன் கருணாவினுடைய பிரச்சனை. இங்கு தனிப்பட்ட மனிதன் கருணா என்று சொல்வது தமிழீழ விடுதலைப்புலிகள் அமைப்பிலிருந்து எமது தலைமையகம் கருணாவை நீக்கியுள்ளார் என்றமையாலாகும்.
தமிழீழ விடுதலைப்புலிகள் அமைப்பின் கட்டுப்பாட்டு விதிகளுக்கு புறம்பாக சில செயல்களை கருணா செய்துள்ளார். கருணா தனித்தே இந்த முடிவையும் எடுத்துள்ளார். அவற்றை மூடிமறைக்க தற்போதுள்ள சமாதானச் சூழ்நிலையைப் தனக்கு சாதகமாகப்பயன்படுத்தி பிரதேசவாதக் கொள்கையை முன் வைத்து தனித்துச் செயற்பட முன்வந்துள்ளார். இதுவே உண்மை நிலையாகும்.
எனக்குத் தெரிந்தவகையில் கருணா தனது பிரச்சனைகளை மூடிமறைக்க அப்பாவியான மட்டு அம்பாறை மக்களையும் போராளிகளையும் பயன்படுத்தி வருகின்றார். சமீபகாலங்களில் புதிதாக பயிற்ச்சி பெற்ற போராளிகளுக்கு சாடைமாடையாக பிரதேச வாதக்கொள்கைகளை புகுத்தி வந்துள்ளார். அக்கருத்தை அவர்களுக்கு புகட்ட போராளிகளினது தியாகங்களையும், அர்ப்பணிப்புக்களையும் சொல்லி தனது கருத்துக்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வைத்திருக்கின்றார். புதிய போராளிகள் சிலர் உருக்கமான கருத்துக்களால் எடுபட்டுவிட்டார்கள்.
பின்னர் துரோகி கருணா ஏற்படுத்திய போராளிகள் சந்திப்பில் வடபகுதியிலுள்ள பொறுப்பாளர்களைப் பற்றி தவறான செய்திகளை பரப்பி வந்துள்ளார். கருணாவினுடைய இச்செயலானது தனித்தே எடுக்கப்பட்டது. தனக்கு கீழிருந்த தளபதிகள், போராளிகளது கருத்துக்களையோ அல்லது விருப்பங்களையோ கேட்கவில்லை என்பதும் உண்மை.
போராளிகளாகிய நாங்கள் தலைவர் அண்ணாவினுடைய வழிகாட்டலுக்கு அமையவே செயற்பட விரும்புகின்றோம். நாங்கள் தமிழீழத்திற்காக உயிர் துறக்கவும் தயாராகவிருக்கின்றோம்.
எமக்கு ஒரு சிறந்த தலைவர் கிடைத்துள்ளார். இதை உலகமே அறிந்த விடயம். தலைவர் அண்ணாவினுடைய இக்காலத்திலேயே தமிழீழத்தை வென்றெடுக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே எனது அவா (இங்கு அண்ணா எனக்குறிப்பிடுவது தேசியத் தலைவர் வே.பிரபாகரன் அவர்களையே).
ஒருவன் தனது சொந்த ஊரில் பற்றுக்கொண்டவன்தான் தனது நாட்டின் மீதும் பற்றுக்கொள்ளுவான். 17 ஆயிரம் மாவீரர்களது கனவை நனவாக்க தலைவர் அண்ணாவினுடைய வழிகாட்டலில் என்றும் செயற்படுவோம். அந்த வகையில் தமிழீழத்திற்காக எனது உயிரைத்துறப்பதில் எந்தவித கவலையும் அடையவில்லை.
ஆனால் இந்த பிரச்சனையைத் எமது தலைமை இலகுவாக தீர்க்கும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையுண்டு. மிக நெருக்கடியான கால கட்டங்களில்கூட ஏற்பட்ட சிக்கல்களை இலகுவாகக் கையாண்ட தலைமை இதையும் கையாளுமென நினைக்கின்றேன். இதை தமிழ் மக்கள் நன்றாக உணர்ந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்பதையும் இதனு}டாகத் தெரியப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள விரும்புகின்றேன்.
இதுதான் எனது கடைசி எழுத்தாக இருக்குமோ தெரியாது. எனது சாவு தேசத்தின் விடுதலைக்காகவே இறந்தனான் என்று இந்த மண் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுமா என்றுகூடத்தெரியவில்லை ???. ஏனெனில் கருணாவிற்கு பிடித்திருக்கும் பைத்தியத்திற்கு நானும் பலியாகிவிடுவேனோ என்று தெரியவில்லை)
தமிழீழத்தில் வடுவொன்றை ஏற்படுத்திய நம்பிக்கைத்துரோகி கருணாவை இந்த மண் ஒருபோதும் மன்னியாது என்று நினைக்கின்றேன்.

கருணாவின் ஆதரவுக் குழுவினருக்குள் குழப்பம்?
கருணா என்றழைக்கப்படும் விநாயமூர்த்தி முரளிதரனை ஆதரித்து வந்த இளைஞர்கள் தற்போது அவருக்கு எதிராக செயற்பட ஆரம்பித்திருப்பதற்கான அறிகுறிகள் தென்படுவதாக தமிழ்நெற் இணையத்தளம் சுட்டிக் காட்டியுள்ளது.
இதுவரை கருணாவிற்கு சார்பாக பிரதேசவாதக் கருத்துக்களையும், விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் தலைமைக்கெதிரான கருத்துக்களையும் தாங்கி வந்த, கிழக்கு இணையத்தளம் ஒன்று, தற்போது வாசகர்களிடம் அது குறித்து மன்னிப்புக் கோரியுள்ளதோடு, விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் தலைவர் வே.பிரபாகரனுக்கெதிராக இணையத்தில் பிரசுரமான கருத்துக்களுக்கும் வெளிப்படையாக மன்னிப்புக் கோரியுள்ளது.
இந்த பாடுமீன் இணையத்தளம், தற்போது கருணாவை தேசத்துரோகி என்றும் வர்ணித்து தகவல் பிரசுரித்துள்ளது.
'தமிழீழக் கனவுகளை நெஞ்சில் சுமந்து, எமது தேச விடுதலைக்காக ஆகுதியான அத்தனை மாவீரர்களின் கனவுகளையும் நினைவில் கொண்டு, ஆயிரமாயிரம் மன்னிப்புக்களை எமது வாசகர்களிடம் நாம் கோரி நிற்கிறோம்" என்று குறிப்பிடும் ஆசிரியர், தனது கண்ணீர்; கைத்தட்டில் வழிந்தோட, மிகுந்த வேதனையுடன் இந்த மன்னிப்புக் கடிதத்தை தான் வரைவதாகவும், கருணா என்ற தேசத்துரோகியின் கடுமையான அழுத்தத்தினால் மட்டுமே தான் அத்தகைய தவறான செய்திகளைப் பிரசுரிக்க நேர்ந்தது என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
இந்தத் தேசத்துரோகியை இனங்கண்டு கொண்டமை நன்றே என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள ஆசிரியர், இந்நெருக்கடி நிலையை, தேசியத் தலைவர் விரைவில் தீர்த்து வைப்பார் என்று தான் முழுமையாக நம்புவதாகவும், தமிழீழ மண்ணும் மக்களும் ஒருபோதும் தேசத்துரோகி கருணாவை மன்னிக்க மாட்டார்கள் என்றும் ஆசிரியர் மேலும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
