அது பெண் அல்லது ஆண் குழ்ந்தையாகவும் இருக்கலாம்......
இவருக்கு ஏற்கனவே ஒரு ஆண்மகன் வயது 12,ஒரு பெண் வயது 13 உள்ளனர். இவருடைய மகன் "ஒரு தம்பி இருந்தால் நல்லது" என்கிறானாம்...........

Sri Lankan Cabinet minister wants to adopt tsunami orphan
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) - A Cabinet minister from Sri Lanka's minority Tamil community said Sunday he plans to adopt a child orphaned by last month's tsunami and doesn't care about the ethnic background.
"The race is immaterial, we want a boy or girl to adopt as our own,'' said Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, the minister of trade and commerce.
The adoption offer came a week after President Chandrika Kumaratunga, an ethnic Sinhalese, said she would adopt a Tamil orphan, in an apparent gesture at national reconciliation between the two ethnic groups.
Nearly 1,000 children were orphaned by the tsunami. Among Sri Lanka's 31,000 dead, children accounted for a staggering 40 percent, or 12,000. In all, at least 162,000 people have died across southern Asia and as far as eastern Africa.
Fernandopulle already has a son, 12, and daughter, 13. "My son prefers to have a little brother,'' he said. "We want to care and nurture this child and have the child's best interests at heart.''
Fernandopulle said orphanages were the "worst places'' for children and it was important to ease procedures allowing orphans to be raised by families.
Sri Lanka has been wracked by ethnic war since Tamil extremists began fighting in 1983 for a separate state in the Tamil-majority north and east, claiming systematic discrimination by the majority Sinhalese.
The war killed nearly 65,000 people. Norway brokered a cease-fire in 2002, though efforts toward a permanent peace have stalled.
Many Sri Lankans have expressed hope that the tsunami disaster, which equally affected both communities, will help bridge the chasm.
Fernandopulle is part of a three-member Cabinet group appointed to revamp laws to help orphans and other victims of the disaster. Currently, only children under 14 years may be adopted, but Fernandopulle said he hoped to "widen this window.''
