Sept 10, Colombo: Japan, the biggest single donor for Sri Lanka, yesterday decided to host the Tokyo follow-up meeting in Colombo without the LTTE's participation, the Japanese Embassy here said.
Japan on Tuesday warned the LTTE that it was undermining hopes for peace, with talks on a permanent settlement between the government and rebels still in a deadlock.

The follow-up meeting of the Tokyo donor conference scheduled for September 12 will go on as planned despite the LTTE's threat to boycott.
We already sent invitation to the LTTE but unfortunately they are not coming, the spokesperson added.
The LTTE boycotted the Tokyo aid conference in early June also, but the government nevertheless managed to get 4.5 billion US dollars from the international donors.
